We received this notification from North Yorkshire regarding school meal prices on Friday 23rd July 2010.
‘County Councillors have today confirmed a new primary school meal price of £2.10 per day compared to the existing £2.00 to apply from September 2010. The decision will be confirmed following satisfactory completion of the appropriate call in period. Councillors are only too aware of the pressures on family budgets due to the rapidly rising prices of basic commodities and have therefore retained the sibling discount which means that there will be a lesser charge for a second or subsequent child having a meal at the same school of £1.90. Over two and a half thousand children benefit daily from this discount.’
Therefore lunch money for the first half of the Autumn Term for the first/only child in a family will be £73.50 (35 days at £2.10) and for any siblings will be £66.50 (35 days at £1.90) or £10.50 & £9.50 a week respectively. For those children starting in Reception the amount will be £69.30 (33 days at £2.10) and for any siblings will be £62.70 or £6.30 & £5.70 for the first week and £10.50 & £9.50 thereafter.
